There are a few things that I am very passionate about. I love writing, especially poetry and I am most proud of my work that received mention in the Bucks County Poet Laureate Contest. My forte is poetry and short stories, however, it has been a goal of mine to one day publish a novel. I have served as a member of the review board for my college literary magazine, Warren, and in my spare time I work on my personal writing. My creative writing blog is http://muttersandmusings.wordpress.com/.
I also love running and my track and cross country teams have been a huge factor in the past 7 years of my life. I enjoy the challenge and accomplishment of pushing my body to its limits while racing. Running keeps my mind clear and my body strong. I feel as though it has taught me many things about myself and how to handle obstacles in my life.
I aspire to eventually write professionally for a magazine, but in the meantime, I plan to start some freelance projects and publish my poetry in a quarterly publication. I would also enjoy becoming a track coach and high school English teacher in the future. I want to encourage an appreciation for literature and running in my students; I get so much gratification from teaching others new skills and I love seeing people discovering new knowledge. There is no telling where the next few years will take me, but I know that I will continue to pursue my passions and I am excited to see where they will take me.
